The word “lingual” means tongue. Lingual braces are a treatment method where the appliances are attached to the inside surfaces of the teeth that face the tongue. Therefore, it is called “invisible braces”.
Besides being invisible, lingual braces have other advantages. To start with, they are considered as indications for complex cases such as difficult rotational movements, changing the heights of teeth.
In addition, the visible parts of the teeth will stay unstained especially if bad oral hygiene is involved. Otherwise, this treatment is difficult to get used to and it takes longer sessions.
